Your friends north of the bridge may think they’re living in Sydney's best suburbs, however, when it comes to livability there’s no question which region is number one in harbour city.
The Inner West is beloved by its residents and almost unheard of to anyone outside of the area, so what does this part of the city have that others don’t?
According to research by the Committee for Sydney, the area is great value for money and offers an enviable lifestyle for working families, students and young people.
With traffic and congestion an issue for residents, many people are spending up to 60 minutes each way commuting to and from the office, it’s little wonder that proximity to the CBD is an issue for homeowners.
For those living in the Inner West, almost half of the available jobs in the city can be accessed within 30 minutes by public transport or car.
Close proximity to trains, shops and schools also helped to position the region ahead of other parts of the city.
Along with enjoying better work-life balance, advantages to living within close proximity to great transport links and amenities included increased social cohesion, improved educational and learning outcomes as well as better overall health.
